The short version. We only hold the details you choose to send us when you ask for a quote — your name, your number, and what you need done. We use them to get back to you and to price the job. We don't sell them, and we don't run advertising trackers on this site.

1. Who we are
SBC Stellenbau Construction Pty Ltd ("SBC", "we", "us") is a construction and maintenance contractor based at 14 Kali Avenue, Kramat, Macassar, 7130, Western Cape. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), we are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

2. What information we collect
Information you give us
When you contact us for a quote — through the form on this site, on WhatsApp, by email or by phone — you choose what to tell us. That is usually:
- your name;
- your phone number;
- your email address, if you give one;
- the suburb or town where the work is;
- a description of the work you need done.
If we go on to quote or carry out work for you, we will also hold the site address, correspondence about the job, and the usual records a contractor keeps — quotes, invoices, payment records and photographs of the work.
Information your browser provides
Like any website, this one is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs. Those typically record the IP address you connect from, the date and time, the pages requested and your browser type. We use these only to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It stores a single item in your browser's local storage to remember your cookie choice. Our Cookie Policy explains this in full.
3. How the quote form works
This is worth being clear about, because it is unusual and it works in your favour. The quote form on this site does not send anything to a server of ours. When you press "Send on WhatsApp" or "Send by email instead", your browser assembles the details you typed into a message and hands it to WhatsApp or to your own email program. You then send it yourself.
That means nothing you type is stored on this website, and nothing is transmitted until you choose to send it. We receive your details the same way we would receive any WhatsApp message or email.
4. Why we use your information, and on what basis
We process your personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a site visit;
- prepare and send you a quote;
- carry out work you have accepted, and manage that job;
- invoice you and keep proper accounting records;
- meet our legal, tax and health-and-safety obligations.
Under POPIA we rely on the following grounds: that processing is necessary to conclude or perform a contract with you; that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; that it serves our legitimate interests in running the business; and, where none of those apply, your consent.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only where it is needed to do the job or to run the business:
- Our staff and subcontractors — the tradespeople working on your job need the address and the scope of work.
- Suppliers — for example a delivery address for materials.
- Service providers — our website host, email provider and accounting or bookkeeping support.
- Professionals on your project — architects, engineers or principal contractors, where you have appointed them.
- Authorities — where the law requires it, such as SARS or a building inspector.
Messaging us on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is operated by Meta. If you contact us on WhatsApp, your message passes through Meta's systems and is subject to their privacy terms as well as ours. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, please phone or email us instead.
Information sent outside South Africa
Some of the services we use — email, messaging, website hosting and the Google Fonts service described in our Cookie Policy — may process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the recipient is subject to laws or agreements providing an adequate level of protection, as POPIA requires.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become jobs: generally up to 12 months, in case you come back to us.
- Quotes, contracts, invoices and job records: at least five years after the job ends, because tax and company law require it.
- Photographs of completed work: we keep these as a record of our work and may use them in our portfolio. They do not identify you, and if you would rather we didn't use photos of your property, just say so and we won't.
7. Keeping it safe
We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access — device passwords, limited access to records, and care with paperwork on site. No system is perfect, but if a breach happens that puts your information at real risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, misleading, out of date, excessive or obtained unlawfully;
- object to us processing your information on certain grounds;
- withdraw consent, where we relied on consent;
- tell us to stop sending you marketing, at any time;
- complain to the Information Regulator.
To exercise any of these, contact our Information Officer using the details in section 10. We will not charge you for a reasonable request, and we will respond as soon as we can. We may need to confirm who you are first.
9. Complaints to the Regulator
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa. Their contact details and complaint forms are published at inforegulator.org.za. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. This version is effective from 21 September 2026.
Children
This site is aimed at property owners and businesses, not children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe we hold information about a child, please contact us and we will delete it.
